Log onto www.southwesttrains.co.uk to purchase train tickets throughout the south of England. Get started by clicking “Advanced Search” under the booking window on the home page.
Fill out the form with the departure and arrival stations, dates of travel, etc.
Look at the discounts we offer for South West Trains. When you find one you want to use, simply click “View Code & Open Site” and copy the code that appears.
Back at South West Trains, near the bottom of the Advanced Search screen, you’ll see a spot for Promotional Codes. Enter or paste your code here, then click “Check Fares and Availability.”
A schedule of train times and prices will appear, with the cheapest options highlighted in yellow. Select the departure and arrival (if applicable) times by ticking the appropriate circles. A “Journey Summary” window will pop up on the right; click the “Next” button here to continue.
If desired, you may choose your seat position, coach type, etc.—simply use the dropdown menus and tick the boxes. When done, click “Continue.”
Before you can pay for your train ticket, you must create an account. If you already have one, simply log in with your email address and password. Otherwise, click the “New Customers?” button and fill out the account registration form.
South West Trains can mail your tickets to you, or you may obtain them at a self-service ticket machine at a station of your choice. Tick the option you prefer, choose a station (if applicable), and click “Continue.” Go over the details of your journey. If satisfied, check the Terms and Conditions box and click “Proceed to Payment.
Complete the payment form as directed, and click “Buy Tickets” when finished. You’re done! Simply pick up your tickets from the machine at the station, or expect them in the mail.
