Someday a company will come along that creates products that make not just the people who use their products look and feel beautiful, but also help the planet be that way too. Oh, wait - that company already exists. Aveda was founded in 1978 by Horst Rechelbacher. Rechelbacher was raised by a mother devoted to the power of herbs and firmly believed that the perception of individual beauty is directly linked to beauty in the outside world. As an adult, he became a man on a mission to bring to market botanical-based beauty products that were good for both the people using them and the earth as a whole. Today the company offers hair care, skin care, makeup and a line of scents called "pure-fume" for men and women alike. They strive to use organic plant-based ingredients, create their packaging from recycled materials and manufacture with wind power. What's more, their products are tremendously affordable and all orders ship free anywhere in the UK. Now that's beautiful. read more

Aveda Customer Reviews

Ethically responsible beauty from Aveda

I’ve been a fan of Aveda for years after being turned on to the products by my hair stylist. Shopping from their website is always a pleasant experience and the soothing colours and images give the whole site a very nice look. Of course it’s not the same as shopping in a store with the sights and smells but for convenience it can’t be beat. I buy all of my hair care from their site as the prices are better than in salon (and usually I can find an offer code). Their online gift guide is also a godsend when I have an event to attend and don’t know what to bring. Recently I tried out their pure-fume fragrance rollerball for the first time (in Love) and it smelled lovely. I will definitely be purchasing more of these for myself and friends.

One of the most important things on the site is their information about the sustainable packaging and how the company gives back. I really admire Aveda for what they do and how the ingredients are grown responsibly. I highly suggest checking out Aveda’s website if you’re looking for quality beauty products that don’t harm the environment!

My hands find relief with Aveda products

Nothing says quality quite like Aveda, as far as I’m concerned. Their hand relief lotion is the only thing that even begins to touch the dry skin on my hands in winter, and I don’t mind paying a premium to know I’ll have smooth hands in winter. I tend to buy three at a time, and I find the website is super easy to order from, so I just stick to online purchases these days. But then I always add a bit more to the order so I can get free delivery, so then I look at the cosmetics. The site is just as elegant as an Aveda shop, and it’s so nice to know you can get anything from their line from the website easily and affordably.

Surprisingly good value - beats the discount stores!

I had a brilliant experience in an Aveda store while I was on holiday in the states and was desperate to get my hands on some more once the supply ran out back at home. Salon prices are so expensive and I really didn't want to buy them at my local salon on top of my hair cut as that would make my spend for the day nearly £100! As a young mum I can't be spending that kind of money on myself regularly, so I looked for an online option. Weirdly, I found buying straight from the Aveda website to be as good if not better value for money than shopping at the discounted beauty stores, purely because of the seasonal deals and sets they do. I picked up a set containing everything I needed plus more and it came within 5 days. The quality of the products is near unbeatable and I think the company is a good ethical business I'd like to support so I'll keep shopping with them, I'll just make sure I always shop online!
